Music Shows Love's Strength

A mother remembered hearing of how her son was shot at school. At that moment she was so overwhelmed with emotion, that singing became the only thing that she could do to keep her sanity. Urban Encore had designed its February concert to bring out expressions of love, leading up to Valentine’s Day. However, the audience at the University Seventh-day Adventist Church went beyond romantic expressions of love. 

The mother who had endured one of the most fearful moments in her life remembered that moment as Urban Encore performed. After the concert she explained that her son, unlike his teacher and classmate, survived that shooting. Urban Encore’s message concerning the healing power of music received affirmation from this woman after the concert. 

Other highlights of the evening included the expression of love from spouses and significant others to their partners sitting in the audience. Roses accompanied the words and public displays of affection abounded.

Different kinds of love gained expression that evening. However, the strength of love in both of its forms seemed to reflect off of the music.
